Pechalat/Bourzat's Free Dance music has been especially composed and arranged for them. The couple missed the 2007 European Championships due to Pechalat's hand injury. Pechalat/Bourzat also trained in Moscow with Alexander Zhulin during summer 2007. The couple missed French Nationals in December 2007 because Bourzat suffered from a knee injury (meniscus). He underwent surgery in December 2007. They moved to Moscow to train under Alexander Zhulin from summer 2008 to May 2011 and then moved to the USA. Pechalat overcame a fractured nose in March 2012 before winning their first World medal. The couple missed the 2013 European Championships as he suffered a partial tear of the adductor muscle of his right leg on Jan 9, 2013. They switched coaches in spring 2013.
