Lepistö missed the first half of the 2006/2007 season due to injury but came back strong to claim the silver medal at the 2007 National Championships (senior level). Lepistö is the first Finnish single skater to win the title at an ISU Championship when she became European Champion in 2009. Lepistö started skating as a four-year-old as her elder sister Kaisa was skating.
