Timoshenko was the 2000 World Junior Champion for Russia,
but then she decided to represent Azerbaijan internationally. Timoshenko got
married to ice dancer Igor Lukanin, who also represents Azerbaijan, in 2000.
Timoshenko's coach Igor Rusakov died of cancer in July 2003.
