Dorinina moved from Moscow to St. Petersburg in 2002 to train in Tatiana and Alexei Mishin's group. She names Olympic Champions Alexei Yagudin and Evgeni Plushenko as her idols in skating. Doronina is taking part in designing her skating costumes. She switched coaches in summer 2007.
